i think i need to get some fillings but i dont want the metal ones because it makes me look a robot. hah. but are the tooth coloured fillings as good as them?

Yes. With the advances in technology tooth coloured composite fillings can be just as effective as traditional silver amalgam fillings. I personally consider them to be alot better as they provide all the protective dentistry advantages whilst maintaining a good aesthetic look to maintain a good looking smile.
